In the current economic times, artists are faced with a new challenge when it comes to selling art. Methods that were previously used for sales may need to be re-thought in order to adapt with the current times.

In dealing with many artists in the Verde Valley and Northern Arizona, Sedona Giclee Studios has received feedback on what the current trends are in art sales.

1. Smaller Canvas Prints

Many of our artists are having small giclee prints reproduced on canvas, that can be sold individually or as a set. One advantage to stretched canvas is no framing cost to the customer. Buying a small stretched canvas print is a way to allow customers to purchase those pieces they absolutely love, but at an affordable cost. This can lead to future sales of your work when the economy improves.

2. Prints on Fine Art Paper

Reproducing your work on fine art paper in custom frame sizes is another cost effective way to get your work out there and increase sales. The artist or the customer can purchase low cost custom frames for their prints.

3. Notecards/Greeting Cards

Artists can offer customers a variety of their images at an affordable cost. Again, if someone loves your art, they would rather purchase something smaller, than not at all. Notecards or Greeting Cards also give customers the opportunity to pass your art on to friends and family. This will lead to future sales.
